Mechanical Structure of Autonomous Delivery Drone
Abstract
In the modern world, automation has taken over many industries, but product delivery has yet to see such improvements. Thus, the objective of this research project was to make a quadcopter capable of carrying a 2-3kg load in a 2-3km radius around the pickup point and deliver it autonomously. The method used to achieve this was a set of high-power electronics along with a flight controller that is programmed to follow GPS coordinates and calculate a flight plan accordingly. This paper focuses in particular on the mechanical design and electronic components required for this concept to be brought into reality.
