Dr. Imran Naseem received his Ph.D. from the School of Electrical, Electronics & Computer Engineering at the University of Western Australia (UWA), WA, Australia, MS in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University, Dhahran, KSA, and BE in Electrical Engineering from the NED University of Engineering, and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow (Adjunct) at the University of Western Australia and a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the School of Electrical Engineering, Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (KIET), Karachi, Pakistan. Before joining KIET, he was working as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Multi‐sensor Processing and Content Analysis, Curtin University of Technology, Australia. Based on his contribution to the industrial ventures, Dr. Naseem is also on the accreditation list of Engineers Australia. He holds several honorary international affiliations with prestigious institutes including Universiti Teknologi Petronas (Malaysia) and King Abdulaziz University, KSA.

He has developed novel methods in the field of artificial intelligence mainly focusing on biometrics, visual learning, face recognition, and bioinformatics. He has authored several publications in top journals and conferences including IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV), IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, etc. His groundbreaking work in the field of face recognition (2010) has received more than 1000 citations so far. His research in the field of telecommunication was awarded as the most downloaded research in 2013 by EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking. He is also a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, and IEEE Signal Processing Letters.
