KIET Leadership Delegation Calls on Honorable Governor Sindh to Discuss Strategic IT Advancement

A high-level delegation from the Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (KIET), led by Chancellor Nasir Butt, called on the Honorable Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi, at the Governor House. The Chancellor was accompanied by the institute’s senior leadership, including Pro-Chancellor Dr. Syed Yusuf A. Zaidi, Acting President Professor Dr. Muhammad Khalid Khan, and Chief Legal Advisor Barrister Shaheer Hassan.
During the call-on, both parties deliberated extensively on the promotion of modern education and the pivotal role of technology in provincial development. They reached a consensus on fostering synergistic cooperation to accelerate the growth of the IT sector in Sindh. The Governor underscored the urgency of empowering the youth with cutting-edge digital competencies, noting that such initiatives are vital for creating sustainable global employment opportunities. Chancellor Mr Muhammad Nasir Butt apprised the Governor of KIET’s twenty-five-year journey of academic excellence and its contributions to the higher education sector. He highlighted that the institute currently caters to over 1,500 students pursuing degrees in emerging and contemporary technologies, ensuring that the curriculum remains aligned with global market demands. Furthermore, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Syed Yousuf A. Zaidi shared strategic updates regarding the development of the new KIET campus at Education City, which is envisioned as a state-of-the-art hub for research, innovation, and academic advancement.
